Post Haiti Gathering...Memories, Struggles and Prayer

Just returned home from an amazing time with most of the team recalling the details of each day by recording them on a long sheet of paper which became our diary timeline. There was much laughter and reminiscing of so many amazing details that we all experienced.

Time was spent in sharing our struggle to continue on with "life" here in the abundance of America while many of our hearts were still 'back in Haiti'. The struggle of knowing all that we have while our friends and brothers and sisters in Christ are praying for rain to sustain their crops that they may have food to eat and food to sell to obtain all that they need to survive...literally.

Each of us chose two areas that we want to purposefully 'work on' as we live out life following Jesus now that we've had this experience with Lemuel. Some want to work on simplifying their lives that family become a priority for their time again, some chose spending more time in the Word and our youngest member wanted to never stop being grateful for what he has knowing that so many have so much less. We agreed to hold each other accountable, we wrote it down on a large board to be displayed and we're sending down a copy to Lemuel asking them to hold us accountable as well.

We prayed to thank God for all that He is and we prayed again for each other and later we prayed a third time for Lemuel Ministries, for rain, for survival, for our role in helping, for God's will to be done and that He be glorified.

It's the Christmas season; a time of abundance, gift giving, time with family, food, and hopefully...faith. Faith in the One who created us, in the One who came to save us and the One who is calling us to follow Him. We desire to follow Him daily and to follow Him intentionally to wherever He leads and we're praying we be allowed the priviledge to follow Him back.....to Haiti.

Morning traffic; Haitian style

Video

Before lunch we collected everyone's necklace name tags and as I and Berit would say, "thank you" they would have to say, "you're welcome". Apparently the rhythm sounded kind of musical and that's when a new song was born and there was no stopping them!

So many thoughts, so many memories and so many emotions coming home after being in the plateau area of Haiti spending time with beautiful and amazing people!

I've already been working on English lesson plans for our next trip! Not sure WHEN it will be but God willing it WILL BE! :)

I have TONS of pictures and videos I couldn't get up to the blog while I was there. My plan is tomorrow to get up a few more pictures to help share more of our time with Lemuel Ministries.

SO grateful for the team that God put together and looking foreward to seeing who He puts together for the next!
Thanking God for a safe journey for us all. Stay tuned for more pictures...
